A Dremelling we will go

When I place all the point motors, I find that things have sometimes moved since I drilled the holes for the actuators. So work is needed, but the track is down.

So the technique I use is to use a Dremel with a side cutting attachment (a drill-like piece that can also cut sideways). But even though my track is spaced off the baseboard by 1/4″ of foam, I have found one absolutely essential tool to use is a steel ruler inserted under the track. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why and how I know?
